Bellingham Health Care & Rehabilitation’s Admissions Coordinator Melinda Herrera was voted as the North Sound Memory Walk Volunteer of the Year for 2009. Melinda has been with BHCRS since February 2008 and part of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk for two years.
As a member of the steering committee for the walk she has attended monthly meeting creating relationships and networking with the Association. This year Melinda is the Committee Chairperson for the steering committee dedicating countless hours to the cause and plight to end Alzheimer’s disease. This year’s walk is September 25 in Mount Vernon.
She not only has a passion for working with Alzheimer’s because of BHCRS but it is a cause that she holds near and dear to her heart believing that all people should be treated with respect and cared for with love.
Bellingham Health Care and Rehabilitation Services' efforts are now receiving national recognition. Bellingham Health Care and Rehabilitation Services is a 2009 recipient of the American Health Care Association Quality Award.
The AHCA Quality Award is modeled after criteria from the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s premier recognition for quality achievement. The AHCA award recognizes commitment to a continuous quality improvement process. The facilities selected have made customer satisfaction and quality outcomes their top priority.
